To whom it may concern,
19 years ago when I was 6 years old I woke up on a Saturday night before Christmas to this little ball of fluff being placed on my face. So started my best friend and my journey through life together. My parents had gotten me a little Blue Point Himalayan who I named Ribbons, and we’ve spent every day together ever since, living out our adventures. Flash forward to the present and Ribbons is entering the end of his life.
I’ve loved him so much that I wanted to get another kittens, just like him so that I could always have a ball of fluff in my life. So I went looking for the breeder we bought him from and found that she now focuses only on breeding Persians and Himalayans with that peeked face (his parents were show cats when the traditional look was favored still). I have never been a fan of that smooched look, or the sounds of those cats struggling to breathe. I started researching it and found out that those cats are inbred (if it’s wrong for people to do it, shouldn’t it be wrong to do that to our animals?) and discovered all the health problems they can have. So I started my search. I needed to find a traditional faced breeder. I looked for a while trying to find one near me, in the North West. I found one, but her cats just didn’t have the beautiful coat my Ribbons does. I wanted a kittens similar to him. Finally one lucky day I stumbled upon the Cozy Kittens website.
Right there in front of my eyes was a picture of a kitten that looked EXACTLY like my baby did when he was his younger self. But the breeder lived all the way across the country. I spent a couple of weeks just browsing her site. Looking at all her kittens, and the breeder cats. They were all so beautiful, and I could look right there on the site and see where the cats live ( and the pictures of the nursery made me smile ) so I finally contacted Sue. I’ve heard other people say this, and I will to. She really interviewed me more than I did her. I talked to her for 45 minutes that first time. and hung up knowing that here was a woman who truly did love Himalayans and Persians to the extent that she didn’t care about breeding cats that could be in a show ring. She breeds cats that are healthy about all else. Beautiful beyond belief too, but their health comes first to Sue. So I signed up to get another Blue Point. Sometimes God works in mysterious ways. You can get addicted to Sue’s site.
I checked it every day for updates and to see if any kittens were available that grabbed my attention. Then towards the end of August I saw my Halo Holly. I fell in love. Sue wrote that she had all this energy and an invisible friend that she plays with all by herself. I had to have her. I was nervous about her being shipped across the country, and the wait for her to be ready seemed longer that it really was, but Sue kept sending me pictures and emails almost every day telling me about things Halo was doing to keep me happy. In October Halo came home. Can I tell you, Sue really does have some kind of “kitten magic” that she spread to each cat she touches. Halo walked right into our house and heart, tired from her long trip, but not without any of her spunk. When she met Ribbons she walked right up to him like she had known him all her life and he looked at her like “Hey, you’re fluffy like me, I like that”. My other cat, Kit-Kat, was more reserved around her, and jealous at first, but now I know I could never separate them.
They play together all day, and most of the night, getting into all kinds of trouble (they almost knocked over the tree together this Christmas). But when Halo’s ready for bed, if we haven’t brought her into our bedroom she will meow like crazy till I open the door and let her in, then hops up on her spot on our bed and she’s fine. In the mornings she’s waiting for me when I get out of the show, and follows me around like a little shadow all over the house. My two year old son can pick her up and carry her around and she won’t fight him. And her purr is the loudest, sweetest, most steady thing I’ve heard. She has stolen the hearts of everyone who’s met her. I can’t imagine my life, or our family without her, or her invisible friend that she did bring with her . If you are interested in getting a Persian or Himalayan then you really should buy one that won’t have health problems, nor the pain trying to breathe when you have almost no nose.
When it comes to breeders of the traditional look, Sue is the best. Her kittens are a testament of how much she loves every cat that enters her home.
God has truly blessed her with the gift of furry purry kitten magic. I definitely recommend that you get your own ball of fluff. The love that you feel when you look into their eyes is worth everything to me.
Sue is the best. I will be getting another kitten from her, and I am not the only one who has wanted more than one kitten from Sue after they’ve gotten their first. Find out yourself.

Madalyn’s Story -A heartwarming letter from a disabled American Veteran
Hi Sue,
I just wanted to send you a much deserved thank you. I know Nina has kept in contact with you regarding our hope to purchase another Cozy Kitten, but I just wanted to thank you for little Lucy ( formally Farrah ) and let you know what a joy she has been. As Nina mentioned, I have recently been dealing with considerable medical issues and am now being retired from active duty military service and transferred to DAV ( Disabled American Veteran ) status. Currently I am in Germany wrapping up some administrative issues while out processing from the Active Army, while Nina has had to relocate to AZ for other military training.
It was hard saying goodbye to my good friend and then dealing with these medical issues. I honestly don’t know if I could have made it through everything I have had to deal with, deployment, injury, medical retirement, were it not for the comfort and solace tiny Lucy has provided. It’s almost beyond belief that one such small creature could be such a tremendous comfort and source of unconditional affection. My great affection for animals has always been what it is, her presence roaming the rooms of my apartment and chasing back and forth and playing as she so often does – is monumental.
The night she was taken in to be spayed and had to stay at the Vet Clinic to recover showed me just of transforming her presence has been and the void her absence leaves. Surely, it is well known that animals can provide for a sick person restorative powers beyond what pills and doctor’s visits can ever accomplish – and this is how Lucy helped this disabled vet begin the long healing process – even down to the silly stunts she pulls while just playing with my walking cane.
I know there are big important jobs and politicians and world leaders that hog the public’s attention and admiration, but what you do in your own little corner of the globe is, to me, really God’s work – multiplying the blessings of his creatures for all the world to share in. For what she has given me, I have vowed to always take the very best care of her and will share her joy and peace with other ill people by enrolling her as a Red Cross Therapy Animal when I return to the United States. In this way your work and her blessings will continue to multiply for even more to share in.
I just wanted to thank you and let you know she is one of my greatest treasure.

When we lost our beloved Persian kitten, Caboodle, in January, we were devastated. To us, ‘Boodle was no ordinary feline; she was a furr-person, she was our child. And she left a huge hold in our hearts and our home.
We then began our search for a new companion. Caboodle was irreplaceable, so we wanted a kitten who would make her own place. Hours were spent on the computer in an effort to find the perfect little girl, but we were discouraged after seeing so many ‘mutant’ kittens : those with pitiful little mashed faces and noses that couldn’t possibly breathe. We narrowed the search to ‘Texas’ and ‘Cat Shows’, very specific, and when the results came back we saw, “Adorable Doll-Faced Persians”, a site that shouldn’t have been included because our search was for Texas.
When we brought up the Cozy Kitten Cattery site we saw not only beautiful kittens but the answer to our prayers as well. We called Sue, who spent almost two hours with us. And, when the tears were shed, she cried with us. So began our wait – what would our kitten look like, when would she arrive. We had already name her – Lucy Furr – then decided that we really wanted two little girls. The second would be “Jenny Furr.” We visited Sue’s site daily, watching for new litters, and one day she posted a picture of the most beautiful little red tabby, name Maisie. Only to us, that was our Lucy-Furr – and she was. A month later Sue sent a picture of a brand new little girl and asked, “Could this be Jenny?” That little love had been born on our anniversary – of course she was Jenny!
We counted the day until we could bring Lucy home and had the great pleasure of going to Unionville to get her. A month later we returned to bring Jenny home. We met Sue and Rob and their terrific kids and saw first-hand how our little girls had been raised, with love and kindness and caring. In a perfect world all kittens would start life in that wonderful setting. A friend of Sue’s who is now a friend of ours as well – said, “You’ll find that you’ve never had a cat like a Cozy Kitten!” She was so right; these little girls are loving, outgoing, beautiful and smart and they have healed our hearts.
When we took them to our vet for their booster shots, the entire clinic came to a standstill, because everyone there had to take a turn holding them. Our vet told us that she had never seen such well-socialized kittens, nor had she seen healthier one. These little loves fill our lives with joy and we still marvel at our great good fortune in finding Sue.
Not only do we have the kittens we dreamed of, in Sue and Rob we now have new friends as well. To say that we highly recommend the Cozy Kitten Cattery and the Johnson family is an understatement: we say, “Thank God for the dedicated cat breeders like Rob and Sue Johnson.”

We could not have been happier with the arrival of our kitten, Candy Cane. He has been so sweet and friendly since the very beginning. We have 3 children and the youngest being 2 and he gets along so well with all of them.
He often wakes up with his purring and he loves attention. He tends to like to be in the rooms that we are in and has quickly become a part of the family. He is just as healthy as can be, loves being brushed and even lets me clip his nails with a fuss!
From the moment he came into our lives he has been nothing but a pleasure. Thank you Sue for raising such beautiful, well adjusted cat. We couldn’t be happier!
Sincerely,
Christa Hartch

Take it from someone who has had the unfortunate experience of buying from an unethical breeder, and paid good money for a “healthy” kitten only to be broken hearted on that first trip to the bet. Do not trust anyone else! From now on all of my little angels will come from Sue.
Thank you to all who work so hard to keep Cozy’s kittens so happy and healthy. From the moment I picked her up, Cricket has been the brightest little light in our family. She is healthy and playful and outgoing – everything I asked Sue for, she delivered! I could not be happier with my Cozy Kitten!
We love her so much!
Thank you!

Dear Sue,
Here it has been four years later, this little girl continues to impress me. I’ve had to travel a bit and move a few times for work, and this incredible little kitty adjusts so well! She’s fearless and loves everybody.
Surprisingly intelligent as well. I've recently had to train her to stay off of my new Ethan Allen leather couches, being she makes marks, even though I trim her front claws… It only took 2 times of reprimand (vocally ), and she’s stayed off for 2 months now. Who would have though a cat could be so smart!!
She’s my little buddy, and when life gets stressful, I just visualize Chanel curled up in my armpit, purring away…Perfectly peaceful.
Thank goodness for my Cozy Kittens!

Hello Sue!
This year I convinced my dad to get my mother a kitten for Christmas 2008. She has been battling cancer for 8 years. Her 2 other Persians passed away of old age in the beginning of 2008. She was very upset. And so she asked me just before Thanksgiving to get her a kitten. She know that I am the one who buys Dad’s gifts for her. I searched on the internet and newspaper and found several sites, yet one caught my eye.
Sue’s cattery stands out not only because of her signature cute Persian fur-faces but the fact she took her business serious enough to become a Better Business Bureau member and their website looked very professional along with lots of information.
I called Sue Saturday morning to ask if she had the perfect female kitten for my mom and she did. Plus, she was very nice, informative and responded quickly with emails! Dad at first, was not going to fulfill mom’s request because he knew it would be him taking care of her. Knowing my dad all I needed to do was find the perfect little girl and email him the picture. In fact, when mom got “Boots” on Christmas Day, Dad had to be the first to see her. When they met her they immediately fell in love. She has been such a blessing to my mom and dad who basically have to stay in their home for the next several months while mom goes through several more rounds of Chemo.
When I call of visit (daily) they always talk about what Boots did that night or day. Examples: She cuddles with each of them at their heads and necks, she plays with their feet, she follows them into the great room during the day and master bedroom at night, she loves her litter box, she snuggles with mom when she gets back from her doctor visits, she meows when they are walking in the room from mom’s doctor visits because she missed them and she has adorable expressions.
Thank you so much for being a great breeder, who truly produces an exceptional class of pets! You bring much joy, love and companionship to so many people!
Best,
Angela Santerini

Just thought I would drop you a line and let you know how “Purring in Paris” AKA, Madeline is doing here in North Carolina. I cannot believe she will be three years old in October of this year!! Our entire family is so in love with adorable “Madie.”
She has an absolutely wonderful disposition, and allows my five year old granddaughter to hold her and walk her around the house with her. Our other three cats would never tolerate that! Thank you so much for bringing so much love and joy into our family
You are the best and I would highly recommend your cattery to anyone who wishes to bring some added love into their home.

Dear Sue,
I’m not sure if you remember me and my family but we bought Bella, well her name was “Mindy” at the time, from you about 8 years ago.
My sister Monique and my mom Dianne spoke with you most of the time, we are from Rhode Island.
We cannot than you enough, she brings so much happiness! At least once a day my mom says that she is our little angel from heaven. She is such a sweet little girl and I can’t wait to get home every day to see her beautiful blue eyes.
She is so spoiled! If she isn’t the center of attention she lets us know it, she is very vocal haha. She has LOTS of toys and the only thing she likes playing with are rolled up napkin balls, once she hears us crinkle up a ball she comes running! She likes to lay in the bathroom sink while we get ready haha. Well thank you so much again!

Dear Sue,
I am just writing to let you know how much I appreciate what you are about and what you are doing within your cattery.
I am a cattery owner of Siberian cats and as such, recognize the amount of time and effort that you put into you cattery.
The photos on your site are truly art and a certain labor of love. I know how long it takes to get even usable photos, let along the gorgeous pieces that you capture and share with us, the public. When I called you just to comment on how I appreciated your work and was so warmly welcomed and “invited” into your world and I was very pleased.
Knowing up front that I was not really a potential customer did not stop you from sharing some of your wealth of knowledge with me, which I appreciate greatly. From our conversation you know that I think that your cats are gorgeous and well loved but you Sue, are the true diamond in the ruff.
As breeders we do not often hear from people that we are just appreciated for being ourselves and I felt it was very important for you to hear how I respect your efforts with your cats.
I have watched your website online for the past 9 years simply because your photos are gorgeous and always make me smile. I did not expect to take up so much of your time during our phone call and I appreciate all the time you allowed for our conversation.
I will be certain to keep in touch and will not hesitate to recommend anyone to contact you if they are looking for your breeds. I wish all the best for you and family, may you always be blessed.

We Love Cozy Kittens :)
Our family has been visiting Cozy Kittens website for years. We have looked at many kitten sites but without a doubt this one is the best. After years of looking our dream came true. Sue helped to make that happen. In fact her whole family did. We emailed her asking if there were any pixies available and Sue sent us a picture. Well we fell in love right away. We knew Bella was meant to be ours. We cannot say how much she did to make it happen. Sue definitely puts all of her heart and soul into every little one she has helped to bring here.
These kittens are so special, they are gifts from God. The exciting day came and it was time to go to the airport to pick up our furbaby. She was perfect. We took her to the car to open up her carrier and she came right out. Happily purring and playing on the ride home. We hope that everyone who is interested in a persian will know that they are only getting the best with Sue and her family.

You won't find better!
Upon losing my beloved Himalayan of over 8 years, I began an exhaustive internet search for another Himalayan. I completely pillaged every site available, and none came close to offering not only the best presentation of the actual animals themselves, but offered up a community itself of similar experiences, people losing past loved members of the family. All of the claims you see on her site are absolutely true. The care Sue provides to her animals is evident not only online but in the remarkable animals you welcome into your home. My vet continues to marvel at their fantastic personality, beauty and quality. Bottom line, what you see is what you get and more. I would recommend Cozy Kittens to everyone!

Thank you Cozy Kittens
We brought Flippy (a Seal Point Himalayan) into our home about 8 years ago!! He is still just as wonderful as the first day that we brought him home. We now have 2 sons (ages 1 and 5) and Flippy is now spoiled by our entire family! He still loves chasing his feather toys and is a kitten at heart:) We just cannot thank you enough!
